The common curves are what I like to call "life issues". We get sick, a loved one dies, or you lose your job. These things happen to all of us. Sometimes they are meant to slow us down so that we can focus on what's important.
A road block on the path is the "I mentality". "It's my dream", " It's my plan". "I don't need help! " While this is true in that this is your dream you're trying to fulfill; remember that I is rarely successful but we is successful all the time. Every successful person has a team behind them even if it's a team of one. I'm not saying invite any and every body onto the team but surround yourself with people who are supportive of you and what you are trying to accomplish. Surround yourself with people who will give you honest feedback and unlimited support.
A twist in the path is that you started out going one direction, but because you did not follow the blueprint you laid out you took several turns that delayed you. For example, I wanted to be a teacher but me and standardized tests do not get a long! I changed plans and pursued another degree. I went into an entirely different vocation and I'm still not in the education field. However, through my job and other interests I find myself with opportunities to speak aka teach. It's not the original path but I still ended at my destination.
The last road block I want you to overcome is being prideful. You only know what you think you know! There is nothing wrong with asking for help. If you don't ask questions, if you don't seek guidance from those that are already living the dream you are trying to achieve then you are handicapping yourself. I'm not saying copy that persons success. I'm saying study that person, ask the questions and then create your blue print for success.
On this journey there are going to be lots of road blocks, detours, and curves but don't stop. Take every set back and use it as a lesson learned. Take every disappointment and use it to propel you farther down the path. Don't stop until your dreams become a reality.
Be blessed and fabulous!
