Financial poverty is simply a lack of resources or MONEY! At some point in life we all experience a lack of resources. Sometimes it's living paycheck to paycheck. Sometimes it's sacrificing to save for that tuition payment. Let’s be honest most of us are in lack because we simply don't know how to manage our money. I will be perfectly honest this was my life. I made poor financial decisions and paid for it by having bad credit and no savings. I just knew that when I graduated college and got in the real world I wouldn't have money problems. Well I did because I did not know how to manage money. The key to getting out of financial poverty is education and discipline. Education to learn how to budget, save and invest. Discipline to stay focus on your money goals. In the words of Maya Angelou “when you know better you do better”.
Do you make poor life choices? Mental poverty is the lack of comprehension. I'm not talking about comprehending mathematical equations or the point of a story but the lack to comprehend when you need to let things go and move on! We hang on to old clothes, old relationships and old hurts like hoarders. Those things serve no purpose but to keep you in a mental state of hurt and confusion. Mental poverty allows you to keep making the same mistakes and being perplexed when you get the same negative results. Don't be stuck on stupid!
When I was a little girl growing up my grandmother took me to church every Sunday. I'm talking about from Sunday school in the morning to Sunday night service - ALL DAY. I am grateful that she did because it gave me a foundation of love and hope. A lot of people today shun church. A lot of people get their church through tv ministry like Joel Osteen or TD Jakes but there is still a spiritual lack. The only way to overcome spiritual lack is to read your bible, pray, and find you a place to worship.
I know I lacked in this area because even though I grew up in church I didn't have a relationship with God. I am in a much better place spiritually because I attend an awesome church and participate in bible study. The older I get the more I seek God’s peace and wisdom in my life.
Fabulous woman know that you don't have to stay in lack. All it takes is the commitment to say enough. I'm tired of being broke. I'm tired of not being fulfilled mentally and spiritually. It is acknowledging that you are worthy of every good thing and making smart choices. It is accepting your FABULOUS!
Until next time, be blessed and fabulous!
