It's so easy to get caught up in all of our stuff, people, places and things that do not serve our purpose. Do we really have to be the football (insert your sport here ) mom, PTA board member and cheerleading coach at the same time? The answer is a resounding NO!
In order to tap into our purpose, we have to be still. We have to unplug and eliminate things that do not serve us. I know that sounds harsh but it is the truth. There are things that we are doing right now that we can stop doing and we would not miss that stress. We have one life and we should be living it to walk in our purpose. I challenge you to:
- Be still – That means taking time to seek God and meditate on your purpose.
- Cut out the “busy” – That means to eliminate some things from your life. It could be as simple as delegating a task to someone else or simply saying NO when asked to chair that committee that you know you have no time for.
- Unplug – Facebook,Twitter, Netflix, fruit ninja and all the rest of social media, tv and video will still be there if you unplug for a day or two. You need to give your mind a rest from all of the stuff in the world. Read a book, take a nap, or anything else that will keep you from being ensnared in the social media time suck.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson; “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
Be blessed and fabulous!
